Taking witness statements

Getting colleagues to provide statements regarding things they have seen or heard can be a great tool as part of any grievance process. There is no need for a long detailed statement but it should be done on paper, dated, and signed. It's a good idea to do this BEFORE you submit a grievance to avoid the employer arguing you are interfering with the process.
